S.S. Dixon Intermediate participates in the Florida Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Project (PBIS). The PBIS mission is to increase the use of team-based planning and problem solving to implement positive behavior support within Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS). The PBIS program acknowledges and rewards students who display positive behavior during the school day.

Too often our attention is on the negative aspects of behavior and fail to take notice of the leadership and values displayed by many of our students at Dixon Intermediate. Our goal is that each student will build a foundation of good character, grow into a leader, and become a productive citizen for our community. Our focus is to build a school where positive behavior is more effective than negative by using preventative teaching and reinforcement. Our school expectations are followed by the acronym P.R.I.D.E.
